Position Summary
The Data Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining data systems that support business operations and strategic decision-making. This role works closely with business stakeholders to ensure data integrity, optimize system performance, and develop efficient reporting solutions. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and the ability to translate business requirements into effective data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business processes and identify opportunities to improve data systems and workflows.
- Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements for data-related projects.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain databases, data models, and reporting solutions.
- Monitor data quality, identify inconsistencies, and implement corrective actions to maintain data integrity.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that support business operations and executive decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data across multiple systems and applications.
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend sustainable solutions.
- Support data migrations, system upgrades, and software implementations.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, process maps, and system specifications.
- Ensure compliance with organizational data governance, security, and privacy standards.
- Assist with user training and provide ongoing support for data systems and reporting tools.
- Recommend process improvements and emerging technologies that enhance data management capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in data analysis, systems analysis, business intelligence, or a related role.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database management.
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and data integration.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with implementation of ERP, CRM, and other business systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing.
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, or enterprise business systems.
- Knowledge of data governance, data security, and regulatory compliance practices.
- Relevant certifications in data analytics, database administration, or business intelligence are a plus.
