Patient Safety Specialist
Location: La Crosse, WI
FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week)
Shift: Business hours, typically 8am-4:30pm
Pay: Starting pay of $79,830.40/year, with more based on experience
Weekend/Holidays: No weekends or holidays!
Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a Patient Safety Specialist to join our Quality and Patient Safety department.
As a Patient Safety Specialist at Emplify Health by Gundersen, you’ll play a key role in advancing our mission of delivering safe, high‑quality care rooted in LOVE + MEDICINE. This position offers the opportunity to influence system‑wide improvement, partner with strong clinical and operational leaders, and drive meaningful change that enhances the safety and experience of every patient we serve. What You Will Do
- Support and facilitate ongoing patient safety and safety‑culture performance improvement activities
- Partner closely with clinical and operational leaders to promote high reliability, clinical excellence, and zero preventable patient harm
- Review, analyze, and trend safety events to identify opportunities for improvement
- Lead and support root cause analyses and other investigative processes
- Co‑design safety initiatives to enhance system‑level patient safety performance
- Promote a non‑punitive culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Support patient safety recognition programs and communication initiatives
- Serve as a resource and educator for departments on patient safety principles and best practices

- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or allied health field
- Minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
