****About This Role****
The Fiscal Officer assists the Associate Vice Provost for Finance &
Business Operations in leading the development, coordination, and
oversight of budgets, financial forecasts, and reporting functions to
ensure efficient and transparent financial operations across all Provost
departments, including School of Leadership Studies; Academic Affairs &
Innovation; Enrollment Management; International Programs; the Graduate
School; and Data, Assessment, and Institutional Research.
The Fiscal Officer serves as the Budget Fiscal Officer for the Provost
hub and is a critical role in providing services essential for the
preparation, supervision, compliance, and management of budgets. The
Fiscal Officer works closely with the Vice Provosts, Chief of Staff,
departmental leaders, Central Human Resources, and the Department of
Fiscal Services to provide data-driven analysis and recommendations that
support informed decision-making and fiscal integrity.

****Worksite Description****
This position is **On-site**.
All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working
to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid
work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.
****What You\'ll Need to Succeed****
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor\'s degree and five years of relevant experience.
Minimum Degree Requirement May Count Toward Required Experience If
deemed relevant by the hiring manager. The degree requirement
ensures candidates possess the analytical, financial and
Organizational Skills Essential For Managing Complex Business
operations, developing budgets and ensuring compliance with
institutional policies. These competencies are typically developed
and rigorously validated only through the comprehensive curriculum
and experiential learning inherent in a formal degree program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Management experience in a finance or accounting function or office.
- Higher education experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Excel,
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting and budgeting procedures and
- Ability to determine changes in regulations that affect
- Ability to use own initiative to locate and resolve problems.
- Ability to coordinate with other areas of the university to perform
- Ability to analyze accounting and budget systems to ensure accuracy
- Ability to operate routine accounting machines such as a calculator,
- Ability to interact tactfully and to deal courteously and
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
