Senior Manager, BI & Data Analytics
Indexed description
BUSINESS CONTEXT
BD (Business Development): seller sourcing, onboarding funnels, pipeline health, and GMV ramp analytics.
Category: assortment, pricing, promotion effectiveness, competitive benchmarking, and category P&L insights.
CBT (Cross-Border Trade): cross-border seller performance, logistics/fulfillment KPIs, market expansion (US, MX, CA), FX and landed-cost analytics, and compliance reporting.
Key Responsibilities — Business Insight
Act as a trusted analytics advisor to BD, Category, and CBT leadership — turning data into commercial recommendations, not just charts.
Partner with BD to size market opportunities, prioritize seller sourcing lists, and quantify TAM / SAM / SOM by category and region.
Diagnose seller funnel drop-off (lead → onboarded → first-GMV → scaled) and recommend interventions with measurable ROI.
Enable Category managers with assortment gap analysis, price elasticity, promo lift, halo/cannibalization, and competitive benchmarking vs. Amazon / JD / Tmall / TikTok Shop.
Drive CBT growth insights: cross-border GMV drivers, seller cohort performance, logistics SLA impact on conversion, landed-cost and FX sensitivity, and new-market entry business cases.
Build weekly / monthly business review (WBR / MBR) narratives with root-cause analysis, forecast vs. actual, and clear 'so-what' recommendations.
Deliver executive-ready storytelling to China leadership and Global Marketplace / International stakeholders — insight first, dashboard second.
Key Responsibilities — Data & Analytics Capability
Lead a team BI developers and data analysts across Category and Post Launch Seller domains.
Own the analytics roadmap and capability stack: descriptive → diagnostic → predictive → prescriptive.
Architect scalable semantic layers, certified metric definitions, and self-service dashboards (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Walmart internal tools).
Partner with Data Engineering on trusted pipelines from BigQuery / GCP, marketplace systems, seller CRM, and CBT logistics platforms.
Establish forecasting models (GMV, seller ramp, category demand) and anomaly-detection alerts for business-critical KPIs.
Stand up experimentation and causal-inference capabilities (A/B tests, geo-holdouts, diff-in-diff) to measure BD and Category initiatives.
Introduce advanced analytics where it moves the needle: seller propensity / churn models, price optimization, assortment recommenders, LTV / CAC modeling.
Define and govern KPI frameworks across BD / Category / CBT with a single source of truth and clear metric ownership.
Champion data literacy and self-service adoption across Mandarin- and English-speaking business teams.
Manage intake, prioritization, and delivery cadence across multiple concurrent business stakeholders using agile ceremonies and OKRs.

Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise BI platform (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, ThoughtSpot).
