Data Engineer (Kusto)

This role operates in a small, high-impact team with broad responsibilities, requiring a mix of data work, application support, and close collaboration with engineering and operations teams. Proven experience preferably in logistics; operations; or supply chain environments
Key Responsibilities
- Own and work hands-on with the IDaRS / Circular Center application (as user + functional owner)
- Partner with engineering to support feature roadmap, development, and bug tracking/resolution
- Handle site requests, incidents, and troubleshooting end-to-end
- Configure and support business rules / demand data, ensuring data quality and upkeep
- Perform UAT/testing and provide feedback to improve the application
- Use Kusto (KQL), SQL, Excel to analyze large datasets, run investigations, and resolve issues
- Apply a data-driven, analytical mindset (deep dives, hypothesis testing, root cause analysis)
- Demonstrate curiosity, ownership, and a solution-oriented approach (proactively find and fix issues)
- Strong data skills + experience with Kusto (KQL), SQL and Excel.
- Experience working with applications in a live environment (support + enhancement)
- Familiarity with:
- Bug tracking / issue management
- Incident handling / user support
- Testing / UAT participation
- Ability to operate across data, application usage, and coordination with engineering
- Perform deep investigations across large datasets
- Work with asset-level / part-level data and integrate across datasets
- Handle complex joins (e.g., 20+ property groups)
- Optimize queries for performance and memory usage
- Build repeatable queries / patterns for dashboards and troubleshooting
- Comfortable navigating large and complex data environments where Kusto is the primary data source
- Exposure to: AI / Copilot-based solutions, Power Automate (especially as you grow into SME ownership)
- Understanding of hardware components (e.g., network line cards)
- Experience working with large-scale internal platforms or tools

Salary Range: $86,000 - $113,000 a year
