About Traveloka
Traveloka is Southeast Asia's leading travel and lifestyle super-app. We connect tens of millions of travellers across the region with flights, hotels, experiences, financial services, and more — all from a single platform. Since our founding in 2012, we have expanded to eleven markets, processed billions of dollars in transactions, and built one of the most recognised consumer brands in the region.
We move fast because the region demands it. Southeast Asia is young, mobile-first, and growing faster than almost anywhere else on earth. We are not transplanting a Western playbook — we are writing a new one, from scratch, for a market that does not look like anywhere else — and we are calling for people who want to be part of that.
About The Team
The Travel Activities team builds the part of the trip people actually remember — attraction tickets, guided tours, cruises, and local experiences across Southeast Asia and beyond. Data is how we make sense of it. Each product category has its own funnel and the supply landscape is fragmented, so the numbers are never clean and the answers are never obvious. That is exactly where you come in.
As part of the data analytics team, you turn millions of bookings, searches, and partner feeds into decisions our commercial and product teams act on the same week. You design the metrics, build the dashboards people actually trust, and dig into why a category is moving — not just that it is. We are deploying AI to scale this faster. If you want your analysis to change what gets sold to real travelers, this is the place.
About The Job
As a Senior Data Analyst on Traveloka’s Travel Activities team, you are an expert individual contributor — no direct reports — who independently owns the toughest, most ambiguous analytics problems in your area, accountable for the analytical decisions you make and increasingly setting the standard others follow.
- Own the analytics agenda for the Travel Activities business area, deciding which questions are worth answering and being accountable for the recommendations that follow.
- Lead complex, custom analyses — causal inference, advanced segmentation, funnel optimisation — on problems that span your own and adjacent job areas and that senior leaders use to set direction.
- Improve how experimentation is done for your area as part of project teams, raising the rigour bar on how hypotheses are framed and results are read.
- Build the foundational dashboards, metric definitions, and pipelines that other analysts and business teams depend on, applying deep, well-developed expertise built from theory and experience.
- Persuade and convince senior stakeholders — GMs, Directors, VPs — of your reading of the evidence, even where the final decision rests with them.
- Mentor and guide junior analysts and review their work to lift quality, without taking on line-management of a team.
- Set technical direction for the analytical methods and tooling your peers adopt, leading through expertise rather than headcount.
- You have at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- You have deep, demonstrated expertise in SQL and design efficient data models, queries, and pipelines that others build on — not just one-off analyses.
- You are fluent in Python or R for advanced analytics: causal inference, segmentation, and predictive modelling, and automation that go well beyond what SQL alone can do.
- You are an expert with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or Domo) and set the standard for what a trustworthy, decision-grade dashboard looks like across your team.
- You independently tackle genuinely ambiguous, high-stakes problems — causal inference, funnel and pricing optimisation — choosing the right method rather than the familiar one.
- You design and interpret experiments rigorously: power analysis, failure modes, advanced methods, and the ability to defend or challenge a result under scrutiny from a skeptical leader.
- You influence senior, non-technical stakeholders — Managers, Directors, GMs, and VPs — translating complex analysis into strategy and decisions they act on.
- You mentor and lift the quality of analysts around you through example and guidance, as a senior individual contributor, without needing line management authority.
- You hold a degree in a quantitative discipline — Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics — or have equivalent depth proven across several years of high-impact data work.
- You bring strong business acumen and domain depth: you understand the unit economics of Travel Activities well enough to anticipate what the business should be asking, not just answer what it does.
- You are fluent on a cloud data platform (BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake) and have worked with modern transformation tooling such as dbt.
- You use AI and modern analytics tooling to multiply your own output and set clear norms for how your team validates what those tools produce.
- You communicate with executive-level clarity and authority in English — in writing, in a room, and across technical and non-technical audiences.
