Reliability Engineer - Manufacturing

The role partners with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, EHS, and network teams to reduce unplanned downtime, strengthen preventive and predictive maintenance, improve equipment documentation, support capital projects, and drive practical reliability improvements across critical manufacturing assets.
What You’ll Do
- Lead reliability improvement activities for critical production equipment, utilities, material handling systems, kilns/furnaces, and supporting infrastructure; conduct RCFA/FMEA and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and improve preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance practices, including inspection standards, PM task quality, spare parts strategy, and maintenance documentation.
- Use SAP PM, Ignition, Power BI, and related Industry 4.0 tools to analyze asset performance, downtime, maintenance cost, and reliability KPIs; create actionable reports and dashboards.
- Support capital projects and continuous improvement work from scope development through commissioning, ensuring maintainability, safety, documentation, and reliability are built into solutions.
- Support reliability best-practice sharing across Corhart, Monofrax, and the broader Ceramics network; participate in cross-site reviews and contribute to standardization of reliability methods.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support plant goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience reducing downtime, improving PM effectiveness, performing root cause analysis, and supporting maintenance execution.
- Experience in the following:
- Reliability methods: RCA, RCFA, FMEA, RCM, asset criticality, MTBF/MTTR, OEE, downtime analysis.
- Preventive and predictive maintenance practices including inspections, lubrication, thermography, vibration, ultrasound, or condition monitoring.
- SAP PM or equivalent CMMS, including work orders, PM plans, equipment history, and asset master data.
- Ignition, SCADA, MES, historian data, or industrial automation/data platforms.
- Power BI, Excel, and data analysis for reliability KPI reporting and plant decision support.
- Capital project support including scope development, vendor coordination, installation support, commissioning, and closeout.
- AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting/documentation capability.
- Strong written/verbal communication and ability to work with operators, mechanics, supervisors, engineers, and leaders.
