Company Overview
A vertically integrated power distribution OEM building engineer-to-order PDUs, RPPs, and Static Transfer Switches for the data center market. Revenue grew more than 3x last year and is projected to grow another 50–100% next year, a 5x+ trajectory over two years. Sister facilities under the same ownership handle precision sheet metal fabrication and transformer manufacturing, with final assembly and on-site testing in Marietta. They've recently acquired an additional 240,000 sq ft facility to roughly triple production capacity. The operation is scaling from roughly 50 people today to a planned 250–300.
Role Overview
A dual-function seat covering both strategic procurement and material planning for engineer-to-order power distribution assemblies, weighted roughly 70% buying and 30% planning. You'll sit at the intersection of supply chain, engineering, and production, accountable for having the right material on the floor at the right time and cost to hold customer delivery commitments. Because transformers and sheet metal are built in-house through sister facilities, the longest-lead components in this space are a supply chain you help control.
The supply chain function is being stood up alongside the growth, so the person in this seat has real influence over how procurement and planning operate as the company scales including the supplier base, processes, and systems. The team is hiring at more than one level, with title and scope based on experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Issue and manage POs for direct materials including bus bars, breakers, contactors, transformers, enclosures, cable assemblies, and other components.
- Source, qualify, and negotiate with domestic and international suppliers on price, lead time, and terms, building the supply base for new and custom components.
- Partner with engineering on drawing review, BOM development, and sourcing strategy for engineered-to-order products.
- Manage supplier performance against on-time delivery, quality PPM, and lead time compliance.
- Mitigate single-source dependencies and long-lead risk on components critical to assembly.
- Run ERP/MRP demand analysis, planned orders, and item master data including lead times, safety stock, and MOQs.
- Balance inventory between working capital efficiency and production continuity.
- Resolve shortages and expedite critical components to protect on-time delivery.
- Support NPIs, engineering change orders, and BOM accuracy alongside engineering and quality.
- Track and report PPV, supplier OTD, inventory turns, and shortage metrics.
- Drive cost reduction through value engineering, supplier consolidation, and TCO analysis.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of combined buyer and/or material planning experience in a custom (ETO / engineer-to-order) manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on ERP/MRP experience in a production environment.
- Excel proficiency for supply/demand modeling.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at a startup, early-stage, or fast-scaling manufacturer.
- Experience in electrical power distribution equipment including switchgear, UPS, critical power, PDUs, transfer switches, RPPs, panelboards, or comparable.
- APICS CPIM, CSCP, or ISM CPSM certification, or in pursuit of.
- Lean or Six Sigma training.
- International sourcing experience across Asia, Mexico, or Europe.
