ABOUT WEAVER GREEN

Weaver Green is a founder run, sustainable home textile and rug company, pioneering in its field and responsible for recycling over 380 million plastic single use bottles into beautiful, machine washable, indoor/outdoor rugs, cushions and home textiles. All our products are designed to have minimal environmental impact, being both recycled and fully recyclable, but also to give joy and practical performance in your home and garden.

We are a strong, growing business, investing in the next phase of our development across ecommerce, trade and retail sites, and now require a talented and experienced Merchandiser to join our friendly and loyal team to play a key role in underpinning our ambitious commercial growth.

This is an ideal role for a commercially minded Merchandiser who enjoys working in a fast paced, agile environment, with direct contact with both founders and decision makers within the business, and the ability to have a profound impact on the growth and development of our company.

THE ROLE

This is a newly created role with significant scope and responsibility. Reporting to the Founder and also Operations Manager, you will take ownership of stock management, demand planning and commercial merchandising across all channels for both Weaver Green and Unnatural Flooring.

Your focus will be on maximising sales and profitability, maintaining excellent stock availability, optimising full-price sales and minimising markdown.

You will work closely with the Founder and MD, as well as the E-commerce, Customer Service, Product and Production teams, to ensure that the right product is available, in the right quantities, at the right time.

This is an ideal opportunity for a commercially minded Merchandiser who enjoys working in a fast-paced, agile environment and wants to have a genuine impact on a growing independent brand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial & Demand Planning

  • Own weekly WSSI (Weekly Stock, Sales & Intake) forecasting at seasonal and key-category level.
  • Manage sales, stock and intake forecasts across Retail, Ecommerce, Trade, Wholesale and Marketplace channels.
  • Identify in-season opportunities and risks, taking decisive action to maximise sales and minimise excess stock.
  • Own OTB (Open to Buy) management, ensuring stock investment is aligned with sales and margin targets.
  • Monitor demand and adjust forecasts accordingly, including pre-orders, Notify Me demand, promotional activity and campaign performance.
  • Make recommendations around repeats, cancellations, recodes, order phasing and new promotions.

Range & Assortment Planning

  • Work closely with the Founder and MD to develop seasonal category and option plans by channel and market.
  • Establish and manage range plans across Online, Retail, Marketplaces and Wholesale.
  • Set monthly sales and margin targets and monitor performance against plan.
  • Manage NOOS (Never Out of Stock) and key-line cards to ensure strong availability across continuity lines.
  • Balance commercial opportunity with stock investment, ensuring the range remains relevant, profitable and well-stocked.

Stock Management & Trading

  • Provide clear, accurate weekly reporting on sales, stock, profit and markdown versus budget and last year.
  • Produce insightful commentary and recommendations, highlighting key opportunities, risks and actions.
  • Review stock across continuity, carry-over, seasonal and new products.
  • Develop clear exit strategies for terminal and sale stock.
  • Lead regular in-season stock reviews, ensuring agreed OTB and trading strategies are being followed.
  • Identify potential stock risks early and recommend appropriate actions.

Production & Systems

  • Work closely with the Production team to ensure seasonal orders and in-season repeats are accurately processed.
  • Ensure all relevant stock and order information is correctly maintained within the ERP system.
  • Maintain high levels of stock accuracy across all channels.
  • Use data and systems effectively to support informed commercial decision-making.

THE PERSON

We are looking for a smart, resilient, commercially driven and agile Merchandiser who enjoys taking ownership and making things happen.

You will ideally have experience working within a small or medium-sized, founder-led lifestyle or consumer brand where you have had genuine responsibility for trading and merchandising decisions.

You will be comfortable working with numbers and data but equally confident making commercial decisions, challenging assumptions and communicating recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Most importantly, you will be proactive, pragmatic and solutions-focused, with the ability to work at pace in a growing business where priorities can change quickly.

KEY EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES

  • Previous experience as a Merchandiser, ideally within a small/medium-sized founder-led lifestyle, interiors, retail or consumer brand.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to react quickly and appropriately to in-season trading opportunities and risks.
  • Proven experience managing and trading your own department or product area.
  • Strong knowledge of forecasting, WSSI and OTB management.
  • Experience working across multiple sales channels, ideally including Ecommerce, Retail and Wholesale/Trade.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear commercial actions.
  • Highly computer literate and confident working with Excel and business systems/ERP platforms.
  • An interest in and willingness to embrace AI and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
  • A proactive and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation skills.
  • Resilient, flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • A collaborative team player who builds strong relationships both internally and externally.

PEOPLE & RELATIONSHIP SKILLS

  • Build positive and effective working relationships across the business.
  • Develop strong, professional relationships with external suppliers and partners.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally and constructively.
  • Treat colleagues, suppliers and customers with respect.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive working environment.
