Business Operations & Automation Analyst (Asset Management)


📍 Hybrid Opportunity

💲 $26.00 - $28.00/hour

📄 Contract Position: 12 months (can be extended or may become permanent based on performance)


About the Role


We are seeking a highly motivated Business Operations & Automation Analyst to support strategic initiatives, reporting transformation efforts, automation projects, and day-to-day change management activities within a leading Asset Management organization.


This role is ideal for professionals with 2-5 years of experience in financial services operations who enjoy solving complex business challenges, improving processes, leveraging data and automation tools, and working across multiple stakeholder groups. You'll play a key role in driving operational excellence while supporting critical business priorities.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic Projects & Process Improvement

• Support ongoing business transformation and operational efficiency initiatives.

• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes.

• Document business requirements, process flows, controls, and operating procedures.

• Assist in implementing operational improvements and automation solutions.


Automation & Reporting

• Analyze operational data and reporting processes to identify automation opportunities.

• Support reporting transformation initiatives using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Qlik, Seismic, SmartDX, or similar platforms.

• Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.

• Utilize advanced Excel capabilities, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, formulas, and data analysis techniques.


Change Management & Project Coordination

• Coordinate project plans, milestones, action items, and implementation activities.

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), process validation, and deployment efforts.

• Track project progress, risks, issues, and dependencies.

• Assist with rollout communications and stakeholder updates.


Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with Operations, Technology, Product, and Business teams to support strategic initiatives.

• Facilitate meetings, gather business requirements, and drive follow-up actions.

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Provide updates and recommendations to project teams and leadership.


Operational Support

• Assist with issue tracking, risk identification, and escalation management.

• Support business priorities across Asset Management operations and reporting functions.

• Ensure process controls and data quality standards are maintained.


Required Qualifications


• 2-5 years of experience in Asset Management, Wealth Management, Client Reporting, Fund Administration, or related financial services operations.

• Strong understanding of operational processes, workflows, controls, and data management practices.

• Experience documenting business requirements and process documentation.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, and complex formulas.

• Excellent organization, prioritization, and project coordination capabilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications


• Experience supporting reporting transformation, automation, or operational excellence initiatives.

• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Qlik, Seismic, SmartDX, or similar tools.

• Knowledge of SQL or data-querying tools.

• Understanding of data governance, reconciliation, and data quality processes.

• Experience with change management, testing, and implementation activities.

• Exposure to alternative investments, fund operations, fund reporting, or investor reporting processes.
