REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related field, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare information systems implementation, support, and optimization within a large, multispecialty healthcare environment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge Of
- Healthcare professional practices across multiple care domains, including ambulatory care, ancillary services (such as dental), public health, and both in-person and remote healthcare delivery modalities, including telehealth support.
- Clinical workflows and the utilization of information systems in support of clinical practice
- Applying concepts, principles, and methods of clinical workflows to serve as a recognized technical expert on Health Information Technology (HIT) and its functionality, performance, interoperability, security, and usability.
- Project management principles related to the implementation, deployment, and maintenance of information systems and software applications.
- Performance metrics, data analysis methodologies, and reporting tools used to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of clinical information systems.
- Organizational structure, and the mission, programs, and healthcare delivery requirements of the Indian Health Service (IHS) and Tribal healthcare systems.
- Information technology standards, cybersecurity practices, and security regulations related to protecting sensitive data within Health Information Technology (HIT) systems.
- Utilize data analytics software and health information systems to support data management, clinical quality improvement initiatives, patient care, and operational decision-making.
- Integrate information technology, clinical workflows, and system processes to enhance patient safety, healthcare outcomes, and organizational efficiency.
- Evaluate health information systems and associated data to support policy development, data governance, program evaluation, and healthcare service improvement.
- Prioritize operational tasks and projects based on organizational needs, available funding, mandates, staffing resources, and technical requirements.
- Analyze and interpret Electronic Health Record (EHR) data to develop statistical, operational, and clinical reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate with medical providers, clinical staff, and leadership to identify healthcare trends, quality improvement opportunities, and workflow efficiencies.
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of health information systems and clinical software applications.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, data tracking tools, and reporting metrics to support organizational goals and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor data integrity, accuracy, and security within Health Information Technology (HIT) systems.
- Assist with clinical quality improvement initiatives through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Provide training and technical support to staff on EHR systems, reporting tools, and clinical informatics processes
- Ensure health information systems align with organizational policies, healthcare regulations, and operational needs.
- Facilitate communication between clinical staff, IT personnel, vendors, and leadership regarding informatics needs and system improvements
- Develop standard operating procedures, user guides, and documentation related to clinical informatics processes
- Assist leadership with data driven decision making, strategic planning, and program evaluation activities.
- Support telehealth and other healthcare technology initiatives to improve patient access and care delivery
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, insurance, and be eligible to drive a GSA Vehicle.
