Southern Specialties is seeking a Supply Chain Planner or Analyst to help optimize our supply chain operations and support business growth through data-driven decision making. This role combines strategic planning, forecasting, inventory management, logistics coordination, and continuous improvement to ensure our customers receive exceptional service while maintaining operational efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Analyze supply chain data, systems, and processes to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, cost savings, inventory optimization, and operational improvements.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze supply and demand forecasts to support production planning, inventory management, and customer requirements.
- Create and manage production and operating schedules that align demand with available resources, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast material requirements to ensure products and supplies are available when needed.
- Work closely with production, purchasing, sales, logistics, suppliers, and other stakeholders to align plans and ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of products.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, support decision-making, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and key performance indicators that measure forecast accuracy, inventory performance, service levels, costs, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
- Analyze production plans, finished goods inventories, and distribution capabilities to improve customer service, reduce waste, and lower operating costs.
- Identify and troubleshoot supply chain disruptions, responding quickly and effectively to unforeseen challenges and changing business conditions.
- Support logistics planning and delivery performance initiatives while considering safety, service, and transportation efficiency.
- Lead or participate in projects focused on continuous improvement, cost reduction, inventory optimization, and supply chain enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to develop and implement solutions that improve operational performance.
- Ensure data integrity by validating, maintaining, and improving planning and reporting systems.
- Prepare reports, analyses, and recommendations for management and other stakeholders.
- Assist with capacity planning and other strategic supply chain initiatives.
- May provide guidance and support to less experienced supply chain personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in supply chain planning, production planning, inventory management, demand forecasting, logistics, or a related analytical role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful business recommendations.
- Experience with forecasting, inventory control, capacity planning, and production scheduling.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Proficient in PowerBI preferred
- Experience using ERP, MRP, or other supply chain planning systems preferred.
- Strong reporting and data analysis skills, including the ability to create dashboards, metrics, and performance reports.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
- Knowledge of supply chain best practices, inventory management principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or similar) is a plus.
