Indexed description

We are looking for a Banking domain Data Analyst who can turn complex data into clear, decision-ready insights. The role involves advanced Excel & SQL analysis, Tableau, performance tracking, forecasting & budget tracking, and strong stakeholder management across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage dashboards & reports using Tableau (preferred) or other BI tools (Power BI, Looker, etc.).
  • SQL skills for data extraction and validation.
  • Exposure to automation (Excel macros/VBA, Python) for reporting efficiency.
  • Perform deep-dive analysis in Advanced Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas, data modeling).
  • Track and report business performance KPIs (daily/weekly/monthly), ensuring accuracy and consistency across multiple reports.
  • Drive forecasting, budgeting, and variance tracking (actual vs plan, trend analysis, risks/opportunities).
  • Translate data into storytelling narratives: crisp executive summaries, insights, recommendations, and next actions.
  • Handle large datasets (multiple sources, high-volume tables), validate data quality, and troubleshoot inconsistencies.
  • Partner with stakeholders across functions (Business, Ops, Product, Marketing, Finance, Tech) to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions.
  • Maintain reporting documentation: metric definitions, dashboard logic, refresh cycles, and governance standards.

Must-Have Skills & Requirements

  • Banking domain experience is mandatory (retail banking / cards / lending / wealth / digital banking / risk / operations).
  • Advanced Excel expertise (Power Query/Power Pivot, pivots, lookups, indexing, nested formulas; automation is a plus).
  • Strong hands-on experience with Tableau or equivalent BI tools (Power BI/Looker/Qlik).
  • Proven ability in data analysis + insight storytelling (not just reporting—recommendations matter).
  • Experience with performance tracking and forecasting/budget tracking (variance analysis, trend modeling).
  • Comfortable managing multiple reports, stakeholders, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication: can explain data clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
