About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic actuarial team and actively contribute to the development of our life and health insurance business—both in Poland and internationally. You’ll gain hands-on experience and build technical expertise by supporting strategic initiatives and key financial processes across the ERGO Group. Our Actuarial Team within ERGO Technology & Services (T&S) is based in modern, employee-friendly offices in Warsaw and Gdańsk.
How you will get the job done
- working closely with international teams of actuaries, insurance accounting specialists and IT professionals under supervision of your senior Colleagues
- communicating with life and health ERGO Group entities via emails, calls, on-site meetings and workshops to clarify system requirements and process changes, actuarial methodologies, as well as IFRS 17 and Solvency II results
- contributing to the development and enhancement of actuarial methodologies and guidelines for life and health insurance business
- supporting the planning and execution of reserve reviews, gaining hands-on insight into key financial drivers
- helping manage data flows and analyze results within IFRS 17 processes across ERGO systems
- working with FIS Prophet, incl. Prophet ALS (Prophet Asset & Liability Strategy) actuarial modelling software to prepare and analyze IFRS 17 and Solvency II results
- assisting in collecting, validating and reviewing IFRS 17 closing figures to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- contributing to the further development of actuarial, financial and IT systems through the implementation of new features
- supporting the coordination of intragroup reinsurance reserving under IFRS 17 and learning about regulatory best practices
- being open to taking on the role of Product Owner for selected ERGO Group actuarial, IT or accounting systems
Skills and experience you will need
- advanced English skills (C1 level or higher)
- a university degree in Actuarial Science, Econometrics, Statistics, Insurance Finance and Accounting, Mathematics or a related field
- completed internship in actuarial field or insurance finance
- initial actuarial training or a comparable qualification
- programming skills (VBA, Power BI, Python, R)
- strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to work effectively as part of a team in an international environment
- a proactive, curious mindset with the ability to take initiative, strong motivation to learn and develop with support from experienced colleagues
- flexibility, resilience and openness to change
- willingness to travel internationally on occasion
Nice to have
- basic knowledge of life and health insurance products and business models
- actuarial exams completed or currently in progress
- experience with FIS Prophet – FIS Prophet is an actuarial modelling and projection software used to calculate, analyse and report insurance liabilities and asset cash flows
- experience with other actuarial modelling software, e.g. Moody’s RiskIntegrity / AXIS, Pathwise, Risk Agility Financial Modeller (RAFMod)
