About The Role
Our client is seeking a Business Analyst with a focus on finance and accounting to provide oversight and administration of the agency budget. This role involves close coordination with the Cabinet financial office and federal program officers, managing multiple recurring and competitive grants as well as the state budget. The Business Analyst will ensure compliance with all grant policies and requirements, assist the executive director in preparing financial reports, and support contract and procurement processes. The position also includes responsibilities for invoice coding, contract invoicing and reporting, budget forecasting, and assisting with annual contract renewals. This is a part-time, remote position with a preferred schedule of four hours per day, ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable to shifting demands.
What You'll Do
- Oversee agency budget administration, coordinating with the Cabinet financial office and federal program officers on multiple recurring and competitive grants and state budgets
- Administer budgets for all grants, ensuring compliance with policies and requirements, and assist the executive director in preparing financial reports as needed
- Prepare documents for contract approvals, submit procurement requests in SalesForce, and monitor correspondence and conformity with procurement policies and procedures
- Handle invoice coding, contract invoicing and reporting, budget forecasting, and assist with annual contract renewals
- Support the executive director with financial documentation and reporting as required
- Detail-oriented approach when reviewing budgets and following procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both verbal and written
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with shifting demands and rapid change
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting
- Associate degree in accounting
