The Supply Chain Strategist develops and implements plans, initiatives and programs that support Chem-Trend’s overall supply chain strategy. The role translates strategic priorities into actionable supply chain solutions across sourcing, production, warehousing, distribution and customer delivery by analyzing supply chain processes, market trends, operational data, inventory requirements, and potential risks. The Supply Chain Strategist partners across functions to enhance supply chain performance, improve competitiveness, and align supply chain activities with business goals.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and administer plans, initiatives and programs to improve supply chain efficiency, effectiveness, inventory levels, and alignment with organizational business objectives.
- Collect, analyze, and mine complex data to identify trends, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement; guide data collection or acquisition strategies when needed to improve the validity of analyses.
- Evaluate demand patterns, inventory strategies, and planning assumptions to optimize inventory investment, service levels, and business responsiveness.
- Monitor forecasting programs to help optimize scheduling and floor space and reduce missed shipments.
- Work closely with procurement, logistics, production, and other departments to align supply chain activities with business goals and customer requirements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve system utilization, and increase automation.
- Coordinate support for new ventures and acquisitions to help ensure materials, capacity, and customer requirements are brought on-line with standard Chem-Trend practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Materials Science, Mining, or a related field required
- 1-3 years of experience in supply chain, production planning, materials planning, logistics, or a related manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, customer delivery requirements, and supplier coordination
- Working knowledge of batch processing of chemical specialty products and inventory control required.
