Field Operations Volunteer

NairaGuard Technologies is a digital platform focused on empowering retail merchants, shop owners, and vendors across Nigeria. The company provides real-time market price indices and daily wholesale updates sourced directly from major trade hubs. By giving businesses accurate and timely pricing information, NairaGuard helps users make informed purchasing and sales decisions. The platform is designed to support growth, improve transparency, and strengthen the overall efficiency of retail trade in Nigeria.

​Role Description:
As a Field Operations Volunteer at NairaGuard Technologies, you will play a hands-on role in collecting, verifying, and documenting market price data directly from local trade hubs in Lagos. Your day-to-day tasks will include visiting assigned market hubs (e.g., Mile 12, Isale Eko, Balogun, Yaba, Bariga, Ikorodu Garage), engaging with merchants, recording daily commodity prices, and submitting updates via our mobile data intake tools. This is a flexible, field-based volunteer position with performance-based stipends and daily data allowances provided to cover operational costs.

​Qualifications:
- Strong interest in market research, data collection, and supporting local merchants.
​Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with diverse market traders and shop owners.

- ​Basic digital literacy, including comfort using a smartphone for offline/online data entry.
​High integrity and attention to detail when recording price numbers and product units.

- ​Comfort navigating busy market environments across Lagos State.

- ​Fluency in English; knowledge of Yoruba or Pidgin English is a strong advantage.

​- Previous volunteer or fieldwork experience is welcome, but not required.
