Financial Analyst

SMT Nigeria, based in Lagos, is currently looking to strenghten its Financial Team with A Financial Analyst.

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and analytical Financial Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate should have 2–3 years of relevant experience, be a qualified chartered accountant, and have a strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, identifying trends, and providing insights that support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare and analyze financial reports and management reports.

* Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

* Monitor business performance and provide insights to improve profitability.

* Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions where necessary.

* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

* Maintain financial records using Navision/Microsoft Business Central.

* Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

* Support internal and external audits as required.

* Work closely with other departments to provide financial support and analysis.

Requirements

* B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or its equivalent.

Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or ICAN is required.

* 2–3 years of experience in a financial analysis or similar finance role.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software, particularly Navision/Microsoft Business Central.

* Conversant with IFRS reporting standards.

* Ability to prepare financial reconciliations and analytics.

* Advanced Excel skills will be an added advantage.

* Excellent attention to detail and good communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
