Environmental Data Analyst
To support NUVIA's environmental and sustainability objectives by collecting, analysing, and reporting high-quality environmental data relating to carbon emissions, waste management, and water usage, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and enabling data-driven environmental performance improvements across nuclear and engineering projects.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Collect, validate, and manage environmental data from multiple operational sites and projects.
- Maintain robust data systems ensuring accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness
- Support continuous improvement of environmental data processes and systems
- Calculate and report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
- Analyse emissions drivers across projects and business units
- Support development and tracking of carbon reduction and net zero strategies
- Assist project teams in understanding and reducing their carbon impacts
- Track and report waste streams
- Ensure compliance with UK environmental legislation (e.g. Duty of Care) and internal procedural and ISO 14001 requirements
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste generation and increase diversion from landfill
- Produce regular environmental performance reports
- Develop visualisations (e.g. Power BI dashboards) to communicate trends and KPIs
- Provide actionable insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Support environmental reporting obligations
- Prepare data and evidence to support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections
- Ensure all reporting aligns with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements
- Work closely with SHE teams, Project Managers, Engineers, Employees, and clients
- Provide guidance and support to sites on, data collection requirements and environmental performance improvement
- Translate complex environmental data into clear, practical insights for non-specialists
- Support delivery of NUVIA's environmental and sustainability strategy
- Identify opportunities to enhance environmental performance across operations
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Environmental Degree (essential)
- Strong analytical capability (Excel essential / Power BI)
- Experience with carbon accounting and environmental metrics
- Understanding of UK environmental regulations and reporting frameworks
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
- High attention to detail and data integrity
- Ability to engage effectively with variety of stakeholders
