Oxford City Council has an exciting opportunity within their Communities and People Directorate.
This post will be an important part of Oxford City Council’s Business Intelligence Team (BI Team) and the successful candidate will be joining us at an exciting time of change with real opportunity to support in the development of the BI Team and the services we currently offer whilst enhancing their own skills by working with other professionals in this field. There will also be the opportunity to provide the necessary analytical support required to support the Council, post the government’s decision on Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)
You will work closely with other analysts across the organisation and from other local authoritis on projects relating to strategy development and policy reviews, providing the data and insight needed to ensure evidence-based decision making is at the heart of everything we do, to inform the City Council’s corporate priorities and plans.

To respond to queries from councillors (members), employees (officers), public sector bodies, voluntary organisations, businesses and members of the public in a helpful and customer orientated fash
ion.
Role responsibilities and main d
utiesTo support the Business Intelligence Team, lead in the development and delivery of the follo
wing:
Ensuring that officers and members have the most up to date statistical information about Oxford’s population, economy, housing, social issues, and in particular how they relate to the city’s corporate plans and political prior
ities.
Supporting the Council with the necessary data and analysis in relation to Local Government Reorgani
sation.
To be involved in the ongoing training of colleagues who sit outside the BI Team to ensure they are brought up to speed in their understanding of data analysis methods and sources
of data
To deliver the data analysis core products for
example:o ‘Statistics About Oxford’
web pageso Neighbourhood and ward
profiles
To have access to specialist tools such as ArcGIS and Power BI to interpret and bring dat
a to life.
To partner with services across the council, playing a key role in relation to strategy development and pol
icy review.
To play a lead role in the delivery of projects as required and to deliver corporate and service area
objectives.
The job will be home based for the majority of the time, however the postholder will be prepared to come into the council offices at Oxford’s Town Hall or other locations in Oxford for meetings or events such as the Oxfordshire Analyst Netw
