Position Overview:

The FP&A Analyst is responsible for providing management with financial reporting and analysis that is used for strategic and tactical decision making. This role partners with business leaders and corporate stakeholders to deliver insight-driven analysis that supports budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning at a multi-unit retail organization. Works with various levels of management within the business units as well as corporate stakeholders to develop, interpret and implement financial and accounting concepts or techniques related to strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting to drive business results.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform quantitative analysis of operational and financial data
  • Build and manage financial databases by organizing and analyzing a wide range of data sources
  • Prepare financial reports for internal management use by collecting, analyzing, formatting, and presenting information
  • Build, maintain, and enhance budgets and forecasts of future company performance
  • Lead companywide payroll cost analysis, labor modeling, and forecasting
  • Analyze budget-to-actual results, identify key variances, and explain performance drivers to management
  • Present the monthly and quarterly financial reports of various units and departments
  • Develop ad-hoc analytical models to support forecasting, budgeting, and other financial and non-financial analyses as required
  • Participate in the annual planning process and monthly financial close and review process
  • Assist in preparing materials for senior leadership, board meetings, investor updates, presentations, and other ad-hoc reporting
  • Analyze trends in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), particularly financial and operational metrics such as sales, labor, expenses, and margins
  • Conduct internal benchmarking and comparative analyses in support of key business metrics and objectives
  • Partner with functional leaders to support financial decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business or analytical field preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant FP&A, finance, or analytical experience preferred; retail or multi-unit experience a plus
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks and work within strict timeframes and deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and analysis of large data sets
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Microsoft Word; Adobe
  • Experience with financial systems and query or reporting tools (e.g., AS400/JDA, SQL, or similar) preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial audiences


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit at a desk to work on a computer for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly.
  • Ability to grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently.
  • Ability to bend and twist occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
