The role:
As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (Power BI), you will help drive our goals by:
- Building informative reports and dashboards that deliver timely, accurate insights to stakeholders - supporting improved decision-making and driving tangible business results. You will be creating innovative Power BI solutions that enhance transparency and empower data-driven decisions.
- Enabling self-service analytics by acting as a Power BI subject matter expert, educating users and promoting adoption of reporting best practices across the organisation.
- Ensuring data integrity and trust by improving data models and championing data quality throughout the reporting lifecycle.
- Delivering embedded analytics solutions by integrating Power BI insights into operational processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and streamlining workflows through automation.
- Owning end-to-end solution delivery, from gathering requirements to building, testing, and deploying scalable data solutions that meet diverse business needs.
- Exploring advanced capabilities like Microsoft Fabric and CoPilot to enhance analytics offerings and unlock strategic value.
- 3+ years of experience in Power BI reporting and analytics project implementation, with a proven ability to design, develop, and deliver complex reporting solutions. This includes semantic models, reports and dashboards development, UI design, DAX, Power Query/M language, and a solid understanding of data visualisation best practices.
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform, including key Power BI components such as Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power BI Gateway, and Power BI Report Server.
- Solid understanding of data modelling and analytics solution design, with the ability to reverse engineer complex problems and optimise data structures for performance and usability.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business needs, challenge constructively, and work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Previous exposure to manufacturing and operational reporting is highly desirable.
- Power BI certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) and knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (architecture, core services, Power BI integration, real-time analytics) are also highly desirable.
