Advanced Cost Engineering Specialist (F/M)

As an Advanced Cost Engineering Specialist, you will play a key role in analyzing, calculating and validating product costs throughout the product lifecycle. Working closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Finance teams, you will ensure the transparency and accuracy of cost calculations while supporting customer negotiations and strategic business decisions.

This role combines technical understanding, commercial awareness and analytical expertise, making it ideal for professionals who enjoy working at the intersection of engineering, finance and business performance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain product cost calculations, product change cost estimates and cost comparison analyses
• Validate and challenge costing data, ensuring plausibility and consistency of cost assumptions
• Coordinate costing inputs with cross-functional stakeholders, including Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Finance
• Prepare Cost Breakdown (CBD) reports and support customer discussions by explaining and justifying cost structures
• Act as a key user for costing applications and calculation tools, contributing to process improvements and reporting efficiency

Candidate profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Engineering, Economics, Finance or a comparable field
• Strong technical and commercial understanding with the ability to evaluate cost drivers and assess business impact
• Experience in Cost Engineering, Product Costing, Manufacturing Controlling, Cost Analysis or a similar area
• Strong analytical skills combined with a structured, detail-oriented and solution-focused working style
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills; English is required and German is a strong advantage
