JOB DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role owns end-to-end environment governance, quarterly release management, and cross-module platform capabilities across Uber's Oracle Cloud HCM ecosystem. This role oversees instance planning, P2T refreshes, patch deployment, and regression testing while serving as the primary liaison for Oracle SRs and platform health. Additionally, they lead technical development for cross-module configurations-including Visual Builder Studio (VBS), Oracle AI Agent Studio, Fast Formulas, and Oracle Guided Learning (OGL)-to drive continuous automation and platform optimization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Quarterly Release & Patch Management
- Update Lifecycle Ownership: Drive end-to-end planning, execution, and go-live sign-offs for Oracle Cloud HCM quarterly updates (A, B, C, D cycles) and regular patch deployments.
- Impact & Feature Analysis: Review Oracle "What's New" release notes to evaluate impact, identify mandatory vs. opt-in capabilities, and partner with Pod Leads (Payroll, Comp, Core HR) on intake roadmaps.
- Regression & Readiness: Lead the 2-week mandatory testing window across Stage/Test environments, coordinating regression testing scripts and defect resolution before production deployment.
2 . Environment Governance & Instance Strategy
- Environment Synchronization: Oversee instance planning and maintain the cross-environment \"Pod Map\" (Dev, Test, Stage, Prod) to ensure configuration parity and prevent deployment issues.
- P2T Refresh Strategy: Schedule and execute Production-to-Test (P2T) refreshes, ensuring in-progress configurations are safely backed up and teams experience minimal downtime.
- Maintenance & Vendor Liaison: Manage Oracle Service Requests (SRs), coordinate with Oracle CSMs on platform health, and communicate weekly maintenance windows and outages across HR and Finance.
3. Cross-Module Platform Development & Innovation
- Technical Configuration Leadership: Lead hands-on cross-module development using Visual Builder Studio (VBS) to design and optimize user interfaces and workflows.
- AI & Automation Integration: Drive implementation and governance for modern platform capabilities, including Oracle AI Agent Studio, Fast Formulas, and Oracle Guided Learning (OGL).
- Platform Standards: Enforce disciplined change management, environment promotion standards, and zero-tolerance policies for undocumented production changes.
Basic Qualifications
- Education & Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Cloud HCM administration, configuration, environment management, and release engineering.
- Release & Governance Expertise: Proven track record of managing mandatory quarterly Oracle update cycles (A, B, C, D), patch deployments, and P2T (Production-to-Test) refresh strategies across multi-pod environments.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience developing and configuring with Visual Builder Studio (VBS), Fast Formulas, and Oracle Guided Learning (OGL).
- Vendor & Ticket Escalation: Strong background managing high-priority Oracle Service Requests (SRs) and working directly with Oracle CSMs/Engineering.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Experience coordinating end-to-end regression testing windows across functional tracks (Payroll, OTL, Compensation, Core HR).
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep process discipline with zero tolerance for undocumented configuration changes.
- Familiarity or working knowledge with Oracle AI Agent Studio or emerging Oracle AI/GenAI capability frameworks.
- Experience in shared Cloud HCM / ERP environments requiring cross-functional alignment with Finance and IT.
For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $180,000 per year - USD $200,000 per year.
For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $180,000 per year - USD $200,000 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
