We are looking for a curious and structured data and analytical profile to join our Financial Services Advisory team. As a Consultant or Senior Consultant at KPMG, you will support banks and financial institutions with data analysis, quantitative assessments, reporting, regulatory data requirements, and the development of practical analytics solutions. The role is ideal for someone with a solid analytical foundation, hands-on data skills, and an interest in how data supports business decisions, performance management, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
About The Position
As our new colleague in Financial Services Advisory, you will work with data and quantitative assignments across banking and financial services, including opportunities to:
- Support clients with data analysis, data quality assessments, reporting, and analytical insights across banking and financial services.
- Contribute to the development, validation, and implementation of credit risk methodologies and models (PD, LGD, CCF), including segmentation, calibration, parameter estimation, performance monitoring, model governance, and regulatory compliance within IRB and risk management frameworks.
- Transform, structure, and automate large and complex datasets from banking processes, customer portfolios, finance, risk, loss databases, and regulatory reporting.
- Support projects related to data governance, BCBS 239, data lineage, controls, documentation, and management reporting.
- Develop analyses, dashboards, and quantitative solutions using tools such as SQL, Python, SAS, Excel, and Power BI.
- Translate complex data findings into clear conclusions, recommendations, and client-ready presentations.
- Participate in client meetings, proposals, and internal development initiatives as part of a collaborative advisory team.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate is a motivated professional who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and communicating insights clearly. We imagine that you bring:
- A master’s degree in a quantitative or data-related field, such as economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, actuarial, engineering, computer science, or similar discipline.
- Approximately 1–4 years of relevant experience from a bank, financial institution, consultancy, or data/analytics function.
- Hands-on experience working with data extraction, data preparation, data quality, analysis, reporting, or dashboarding.
- Solid analytical skills and the ability to structure complex problems, identify patterns, and draw practical conclusions.
- Experience with SQL, Python, SAS, Excel, Power BI, or similar tools. Experience with credit risk modelling, IRB methodologies, IFRS 9, model monitoring, banking data and products, BCBS 239, regulatory reporting, or data governance.
- The ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing, and to present data-driven insights in a simple and client-oriented way.
This position involves limited international travel activities. You’re working address will be at Dampfærgevej 28, 2100 Copenhagen and at the client’s site. We offer flexible work-from-home opportunities but prioritize meetings at the office on Fridays to be with colleagues.
