We're looking to add a Junior Data Analyst to our growing team. In this role, you'll investigate and document how our current databases are structured, help construct new data models, and make sure everything ties back to business needs, policies, and regulatory obligations. We're seeking someone with solid data management fundamentals, sharp analytical instincts, and comfort working alongside cross-functional partners and data architects.

Responsibilities

  • Study existing database architecture to understand how data moves, connects, and depends on other elements
  • Document the current database schema, along with data dictionaries and lineage records
  • Spot areas where current database structures could be refined or made more efficient
  • Partner with product owners, data architects, and engineers to craft new data models that solve business problems
  • Check that data models are built to scale, run efficiently, and follow recommended practices
  • Create and keep updated data models, visual diagrams, and related documentation
  • Meet with stakeholders to gather and clarify data-related business needs
  • Translate business needs into technical specs suitable for data models and database design
  • Stay informed on and apply relevant data governance, privacy, and regulatory obligations
  • Confirm that database structures and data models comply with regulatory and industry expectations
  • Monitor and report on how well data governance standards are being followed
  • Develop and launch processes for checking and validating data quality
  • Spot and correct data quality problems to keep information accurate and reliable
  • Work alongside engineers, analysts, and other IT colleagues to build out and improve data models
  • Present findings, insights, and suggestions to audiences with varying levels of technical background
  • Assist and train users on newly implemented data models and database structures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a comparable discipline
  • A minimum of one year working as a Data Analyst or in a similar capacity
  • Strong SQL skills combined with hands-on use of database platforms such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
  • Working knowledge of NoSQL databases and experience modeling JSON documents
  • Solid foundation in data modeling principles and techniques
  • Sharp analytical thinking paired with strong problem-solving and critical-reasoning skills
  • Understanding of data governance practices, privacy standards, and regulatory obligations
  • Strong communication abilities paired with solid interpersonal skills
  • Comfort operating within a fast-paced, collaborative, agile-driven setting
  • Strong English language skills, at C1 level or above

  • Background using data modeling software, such as ERwin or ER/Studio
