What You'll Do
- Research and validate journalist data, including affiliations, contact details, beats, and recent published work, ensuring accuracy by cross-referencing multiple sources.
- Monitor media sources, news platforms, and social media to track journalist movements, updates, and industry trends.
- Maintain, enrich, and update journalist profiles and company records in the database with verified, up-to-date information.
- Read, interpret, and annotate online business news articles independently, applying appropriate tags, classifications, and metadata with high accuracy.
- Evaluate the accuracy of data in news articles, assess publisher credibility, and implement best practices in primary research methodologies.
- Conduct in-depth market and company research to collect and consolidate firmographic data including CEO identification, revenue, employee count, founding date, and ownership structure.
- Validate and categorise business events such as funding rounds, acquisitions, leadership changes, and product launches. Write and prepare company and event descriptions and contribute to user-facing content and alerts.
- Identify and correct errors or inconsistencies across journalist, content, and company datasets and contribute to improving annotation frameworks and research methodologies.
- Handle and resolve product support tickets related to entitlement and privacy requests, ensuring timely and accurate resolution in line with internal policies.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in media research, journalism, data analysis, or content operations.
- Familiarity with media industry trends and journalist networks.
- Proficiency in using search engines, media databases, and social platforms for research.
- Prior experience in media research, journalism, or data analysis is a plus.
- Experience with annotation tools and content management systems is an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to interpret large amounts of data and multitask effectively.
- Strong communication, presentation skills, and collaboration abilities.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
- Exposure to HITL workflows and annotation processes is preferred.
