Your Opportunity
Note: This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.
This role will undertake management accounting services for NSW LRS including monthly reporting for internal management, assist in developing the annual budget, quarterly forecasting, expense management and full ownership and responsibility for compiling, updating, and consolidating the Board and Risk Committee reports within the guidelines of the business rules.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide management reporting for NSW LRS
- Assist in preparing annual budget for NSW LRS including the budget phasing by month and undertaking the necessary SAP uploads at cost centre level
- Provide financial analysis on NSW LRS financial results and advice to Executive Leadership Team on drivers affecting the financial and budgetary position.
- Prepare Business Unit Reporting that tracks cost centre actuals to cost centre monthly budget.
- Provide advice and support to business unit managers regarding their annual budget and expenses.
- Provide support to ELT to ensure appropriate financial management controls around NSW LRS operations.
- Continuous improvement of reporting environment including financial and board reporting.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of Board, Committee, Risk and regulatory financial reporting, including tracking governance actions and ensuring prompt resolution of agreed outcomes.
- Perform quality assurance on inputs and constructively challenge stakeholders on data and commentary submissions to ensure a consistent quality standard is met.
- Prepare other adhoc reporting as required by the business such as ABS reporting.
- Prepare monthly volumes and revenue reporting compared to budget that is provided as part of Board standing reports and provided to shareholder analysts.
- Monitor and interpret key economic, property market, and industry indicators (e.g. interest rates, inflation, employment trends, property prices, and construction activity) and assess their impact on business performance and forecasts.
- Improve reporting processes through automation, data visualisation (such as Tableau, Power BI), and continuous enhancement of analytics capabilities.
- Create and maintain executive dashboards and KPI reporting tools to provide actionable business insights.
About You
To be successful in this role you will:
- Tertiary and professional qualifications (CA/CPA)
- Minimum 5 years performing in a similar FP&A function
- Prior experience in managing and influencing senior stakeholders
- Prior experience in creating and maintaining KPI dashboards
- High level knowledge of and demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting principles and practices
- Strong quantitative, analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management & organisational skills
- Advanced Excel experience
- Power BI / Tableau desired experience
