MCR Performance Solutions, LLC provides management consulting services to its clients in the utility industry. These services encompass many disciplines including electric transmission strategy, electric regulatory, financial forecasting and analysis, energy efficiency, nuclear asset management and utility transformation services.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with an understanding of utility energy efficiency programs. The candidate is a skilled analyst who enjoys working with data, developing analytical tools, and solving business problems. They are comfortable moving between detailed data analysis, program operations support, and client-facing technical discussions. They are curious, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of translating complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for program managers and utility stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze utility programs and measure data to evaluate performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.
- Develop recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Perform data validation, quality assurance, and reconciliation activities.
- Support forecasting, KPI tracking, savings analysis, and program performance reporting.
- Develop analytical tools, automated reports, and data management solutions.
Technical, Regulatory, and Project Support
- Support regulatory filings, annual reports, cost-effectiveness analysis, and technical documentation.
- Assist with savings calculations, measure research, M&V activities, and data requests from clients and evaluators. This includes developing a comprehensive understanding of Technical Reference Manuals and other guidance documents.
- Support the administration, testing, and enhancement of energy efficiency tracking systems and reporting platforms.
- Document business requirements, workflows, and functional specifications for system improvements.
- Participate in client meetings and collaborate with program managers, implementers, evaluators, and software development teams.
- Contribute technical content to proposals, presentations, and client deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental studies, economics, statistics, data science, public policy, a related field, or demonstrated experience.
- 3–7 years of experience in energy efficiency, utility consulting, program M&V, analytics, or a related field.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with SQL, Python, R, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently as part of a remote team.
Preferred Competencies
- Experience with utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs.
- Familiarity with M&V, cost-effectiveness testing, and regulatory reporting.
- Experience with energy efficiency tracking systems and business process improvement.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency and distributed energy resources technologies.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar professional credential.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to a Director in the Energy Products and Services practice and supports multiple client projects and program teams. This position may involve travel of up to 10-20%.
