Job Overview
Do you have a passion for improving data quality, supporting users and driving service improvement through better information?
We are looking for a proactive Data Quality Marshal to join our Data Quality & Assurance team. Reporting to the Group Data Quality & Assurance Lead, you will act as a subject matter expert, ensuring data quality meets local and national standards while supporting colleagues to maximise the value of clinical and operational systems.
You will; investigate and resolve data quality issues, undertake audits and root cause analysis, support system upgrades and change programmes, develop guidance and procedures, assessment of proposed configuration changes, and support related training design and compliance monitoring. The role is central to improving data accuracy, compliance and reporting that supports high-quality patient care and decision-making.
We are seeking an individual with experience of working with large datasets, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities and a track record of supporting users and stakeholders in complex healthcare or IT environments.

Main duties of the job
- Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues using multiple information sources.
- Support and train staff to follow standard operating procedures and escalate non-compliance.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for new and existing systems, advising on solutions and systems and data limitations.
- Bridge clinical best practice and technical solutions.
- Ensure local and national data quality standards are met.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Plan and undertake investigations, audits, and data analysis for service improvement.
- Deliver and support change management, motivating others to embrace change.
- Assist in planning and delivery for system upgrades and migrations.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures.
- Establish strong working relationships and communicate complex IT requirements clearly.
- Conduct process reviews and support IT solution implementation.
- Deliver tailored training and presentations to a range of audiences.
- Participate in project meetings, reporting on progress, priorities, and risks.
- Manage workflow mapping and process redesign to support Group objectives.
- Undertake system and usability testing, supporting others as needed.

Training, Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience in IT or operational environment.
- Experience delivering information governance support in a healthcare environment.
- Experience working with staff to understand and resolve issues.
- Experience working with and analysing large data sets.
- Experience in planning and organising workload, meeting deadlines, and working to SLAs.
- Experience in multidisciplinary environments and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with NHS clinical information systems (e.g., PAS, e-Prescribing, Bluespier).
- Knowledge of IT service management methodologies (e.g., ITIL)
- Evidence of continuing professional development and best practice in IT support
- Evidence of Degree or further educational studies in a related subject.

- Strong negotiation, mediation, and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of influencing clinicians and stakeholders to embrace change.
