Job Summary
The Market Intelligence Analyst plays a critical role in delivering data-driven insights to support strategic and ongoing decision-making within GKN Aerospace’s Civil Airframes business unit.
The role focuses on capturing, warehousing, and analyzing data across the aerospace sector, macroeconomic environment, competitive landscape, and customer base.
Working closely with the Market Intelligence Director and cross-functional stakeholders, the Analyst will translate this complex data into actionable insights that inform business strategy and decision making.
This is a hybrid role that will report into our Bristol Global Technology Centre.
There will be some expectation for some travel, which would be once a quarter.
What You'll Be Doing
Analysis & Forecasting
- Conduct data analysis and manipulation of large datasets related to aerospace markets.
- Develop market intelligence insights on aerospace industry trends.
- Develop aircraft production forecasts.
- Perform competitive intelligence analysis.
- Analyze upstream industry dynamics.
- Apply macroeconomic analysis techniques, including basic econometric modelling.
- Monitor and analyze geopolitical developments.
- Contribute to creation of standardized market intelligence outputs, such as dashboards, reports, and briefing materials.
- Develop and maintain forecast models and migrate them to BI and/or AI tools.
- Support development of strategic narratives.
- Partner with internal stakeholders.
- Support the Market Intelligence Director in strategic projects and deep-dive analyses.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Assist in preparing and delivering market intelligence presentations to internal leadership.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in programmes, business development, commercial, finance, engineering, or data analytics (aerospace experience preferred). An alternative career background will be considered.
- Experience working with analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau) required.
- Working knowledge of Large-Language-Model prompt engineering required, with strong desire to rapidly grow this skillset.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Intellectual curiosity about aerospace markets and global economic systems.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights.
- Proactive and self-driven, with a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Effective communicator with the ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders.
