The Role
The Analyst Commercial Operations Services is responsible for providing timely and accurate information to internal and external customers with respect to volumetric and inventory transactions at our Canadian and US Terminals and Pipelines.
What You Will Do
- Reviews and validates all trucking and pipeline movements at Canadian and US Terminals.
- Confirms month-end volumetric transactions with 3rd party Pipeline and Lease owners.
- Confirms volumetric movements for different commodities including crude oil, condensate, LPG and butane.
- Supports Commercial Operations with month-end balancing procedures for all Gibson Energy Canadian Terminals and Pipelines with a commitment to high quality customer service and accuracy.
- Prepares Producer Receipt statements, inputs splits received from producers, prepares over/shorts reports, prepares Shippers’ Balances.
- Maintains internal and 3rd party analysis of quality data for equalization purposes.
- Supports regulatory reporting to Federal, Provincial and State government bodies for all Canadian and US assets.
- Acts as liaison with other functional areas and external customers.
- Ensures reports are updated and distributed in a timely manner.
- Cross trains on various Commercial Operations tasks to support the growth and continuity of the team.
- Assists with the development and testing of applicable software and enhancements as required.
- Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
- Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- Post-secondary education in Business or a related field.
- Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Synthesis application system and related software would be considered an asset.
- Experience in software testing and implementation would be considered an asset.
- Excel skills are required (formatting, formulas, etc.)
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
- Exhibit knowledge and the ability to analyze information and solve problems under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
- Effectively interact both orally and in writing with customers, functional area and field personnel.
- Demonstrate prioritization skills by setting priorities for tasks in order of importance.
- Ability to build strong customer relationships by demonstrating solid customer service and collaboration skills.

- Calgary Head Office based position.

Gibson Energy Operates Through Two Main Segments
- Infrastructure: This includes terminals, marine loading, rail loading and unloading facilities, gathering pipelines, a diluent recovery unit, and a crude oil processing facility. Key facilities within this segment include the Hardisty, Edmonton, and Ingleside Terminals, as well as gathering pipelines in the United States and a crude oil processing facility in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
- Marketing: This involves the purchasing, selling, storing, and optimizing of hydrocarbon products.
