Data Engineer

The ADP Data Engineer will be responsible for transitioning from SAS to ADP (Allianz Data Platform). In this process, the ADP will be newly established from the ground up as the new data warehouse and data analytics solution within Allianz Technology and will represent the future of data warehousing at Allianz. What You Do

• Data Ingestion: You will integrate data from various sources into the ADP and design and implement the corresponding extract and load processes.
• Data Transformation: You will design efficient ETL processes across all layers of the ADP using Azure Notebooks & Pipelines, including data transformation. You will ensure data quality and consistency.
• Data Integration: Data integration and ensuring its availability to the consumption and analytics layer, as well as downstream applications (e.g., PowerBI), will also be part of your responsibilities.
• Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitoring and optimizing already implemented processes will be among your tasks to keep processes as performant and cost-efficient as possible.
• Migration: During the transition phase from the existing SAS Data Warehouse to ADP, you can also contribute to migration processes and the operation of the SAS Data Warehouse.

• A background as a software developer with in-depth knowledge of the data landscape at Allianz Technology and an interest in data analytics and data warehouse solutions, as well as their implementation.
• You are proficient in ABS and motivated for a new challenge.
• You bring a strong desire to shape and take initiative, as well as analytical skills combined with problem-solving competence.
• Experience with the following tools will significantly ease your start in your new role: Python, SQL, Spark, GitHub, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• It would also be advantageous to have initial knowledge of data platform architectures (Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Lake Warehouse, Medallion Architecture) and knowledge of various data modeling techniques (3NF, Star Schema, Data Vault, etc.).
• You are ready to continuously learn new technologies and methods to stay at the forefront of technology and develop the best solutions for Allianz.
• An agile mindset with the willingness to use agile tools, methods, and knowledge rounds out your profile.
• Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles, and their practical use.
