A client of Jackson & Correia, headquartered in Massachusetts, is seeking a Data Analyst to support enterprise data initiatives across HR, Finance, and Research Administration. This role is 100% remote, with travel to Massachusetts once per quarter, and will play a critical part in transforming complex data into actionable insights that support leadership decision-making and cross-functional reporting.


The ideal candidate brings deep experience analyzing large, complex datasets, building business intelligence solutions, and partnering with stakeholders to drive scalable analytics strategy.


Position Overview

The Data Analyst will convert complex data into actionable business insights by building strong contextual and domain knowledge within their assigned functional area. This individual will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, Data Stewards, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to deliver scalable analytics and business intelligence solutions.


This role will have direct impact on the redesign of Data Marts and Data Models, enabling leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and end users to leverage enhanced reporting and self-service analytics capabilities.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner cross-functionally with business teams and leadership to develop and implement Business Intelligence strategies
  • Lead BI-specific project workstreams from concept through implementation
  • Generate actionable insights through analysis of key metrics across functions
  • Perform deep data analysis to identify root causes and design data-driven solutions
  • Develop mechanisms for performance monitoring, controls, and reporting
  • Support cost/benefit analyses and document business requirements for data solutions
  • Conduct end-to-end solution testing and lead user validation testing of datasets and reports
  • Contribute to the redesign and optimization of Data Marts and enterprise Data Models
  • Build and maintain documentation to support data interpretation and self-service reporting
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of experience analyzing and modeling large, complex datasets (preferably within higher education administrative environments)
  • Strong experience writing complex SQL queries across multiple joined datasets
  • Proven experience developing dashboards and reports
  • Demonstrated ability to define requirements and use data/metrics to drive business insights
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Cognos, or QuickSight
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and leadership levels
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data warehousing concepts
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python
  • Knowledge of data security concepts
  • Experience supporting higher education administrative functions
