Duties

  • Duties are listed at full performance grade level, GS-11:
  • Develop project task listings and activity hierarchies to establish project scope, cost, schedule, and resource requirements.
  • Analyze task interrelationships to develop and maintain Critical Path Method (CPM) networks, baseline schedules, current schedules, and funding plans using the P2 System.
  • Coordinate with project managers to collect, validate, and distribute schedule information and identify project issues requiring resolution.
  • Conduct what-if analyses of cost and schedule changes; evaluate impacts to milestones, funding, and project execution and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Prepare project management reports, executive summaries, briefings, monthly status reviews, Project Review Board (PRB) briefings, and other management information and data calls.
  • Validate technical elements of tasking, activity schedules, milestones, and resource assignments to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Review P2 schedules, Enterprise Data Warehouse reports, and other reporting systems to validate data accuracy, consistency, and make necessary corrections.
  • Participate in PDT meetings, project reviews, and status meetings to incorporate decisions, assign resulting tasks, and update project schedules and resource requirements.
  • Assist with reporting/information and preparing executive summary briefings.
  • Provide documented schedule and resource analyses, findings, and recommendations to support resolution of project execution issues.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience for the GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets, reviewing cost and schedule reports, coordinating with project managers, and providing timely status updates to support effective project management.

Specialized Experience for the GS-11:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes using computer-based scheduling software (e.g., P2, Primavera, or Microsoft Project) to develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules and budgets; review and analyze cost and schedule reports; establish project responsibilities and performance expectations; coordinate multiple project schedules, funding, and resource requirements; and provide accurate, timely project status updates to support effective project management and informed decision-making.

Time in Grade Requirement for GS-09: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Time in Grade Requirement for GS-11: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
