Role/Function Summary:
The Corporate Strategy Senior Manager / Associate Director will provide scientific, competitive, market, and commercial insights to support portfolio strategy, business development, and corporate decision-making. The role will lead competitive intelligence and disease-area analyses, develop commercial assessments and business cases, and provide strategic support across partnering and diligence activities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Lead competitive intelligence and landscape monitoring for relevant MoA, therapeutic areas, assets, and peer companies; synthesize findings into structured, decision-oriented reports and presentations.
• Conduct in-depth disease-area landscape, epidemiology, treatment paradigm, unmet need, and market potential analyses to inform portfolio strategy and asset positioning.
• Develop commercial assessments and business cases for asset/portfolio valuation positioning, including market sizing, competitive positioning, and value-driver analysis.
• Provide strategic support for business development processes, including diligence preparation, partner prioritization, and external engagement planning.
• Work cross-functionally with R&D, clinical, finance, and leadership teams to integrate scientific, clinical, and commercial perspectives into clear strategic recommendations.
• Monitor relevant industry developments and communicate actionable implications for the company’s portfolio and corporate strategy.
Educational Requirements:
• PhD in life sciences, biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, medicine, or a related discipline. An MD or other advanced scientific degree with directly relevant industry experience may also be considered.
Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience in corporate strategy, competitive intelligence, commercial assessment, or asset evaluation within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Prior experience in pharma/biotech strategy or R&D, life sciences consulting, or biotech equity research.
• Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical value chain, drug development process, and product lifecycle management.
• Strong capabilities in information search, collection, critical evaluation, and synthesis, with proficiency in commercial and public databases and AI-enabled research tools.
• High proficiency in developing clear, well-structured written reports and executive-level presentations.
• Strong analytical judgment and the ability to translate complex scientific, clinical, competitive, and market information into actionable insights.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across organizational levels and manage through influence.
• Fluent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in an international environment.
