Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, validate, and maintain data to ensure accuracy, quality, and reliability for reporting and analysis.
- Perform ad-hoc and recurring analyses to identify trends, patterns, and business insights.
- Prepare datasets and assist in exploratory data analysis to support business and operational initiatives.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, Excel, or similar tools.
- Support the development, testing, validation, and monitoring of predictive and statistical models under the guidance of senior team members.
- Apply basic statistical techniques to analyze data and support business decision-making.
- Assist in integrating and preparing data from multiple internal and external data sources.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Document business requirements, user stories, and analytical processes.
- Communicate analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support data quality initiatives and help identify opportunities to improve data collection processes.
- Partner with data engineering and development teams to support analytics and reporting initiatives.
- Use SQL, Python, Excel, and other analytical tools to support data analysis and reporting activities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and use Azure DevOps to track work items and project progress.
- Adhere to the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all security, data governance, and compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- 0-2 years of experience in data analytics, business analytics, or data science roles
- Experience through internships, academic projects, or professional work involving data analysis and reporting
- Working knowledge of SQL and Python
- Experience with Power BI, Excel, or similar data visualization tools
- Understanding of basic statistical concepts and data analysis techniques
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience gathering, documenting, and interpreting business requirements
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional business and technical teams
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, etc.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts and version control tools
- Exposure to AI-assisted analytics, generative AI, or emerging data science technologies
- Experience working with enterprise data environments and data governance practices

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $62,700 to $83,000 USD and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday and personal days (totaling 12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
