Working Student - Data & Analytics (m/w/d)

Our mission at HEY HOLY: to elevate dogs' health to a new level through nutrition. Instead of one-size-fits-all, we focus on breed-specific, functional food — developed with veterinarians and aimed at giving every dog a long, healthy life.

What began as an idea in 2022 is today a rapidly growing DTC subscription model serving over 20,000 dogs. Our team is set to grow to more than 35 people by the end of 2026 — now is the perfect time to join.

Behind this growth lies a lot of data: subscriptions, shop, marketing channels, logistics, CRM. We make decisions on this basis every day — which is exactly why our reports need to be reliable. Instead of recurring manual checks, we want to build a reporting landscape that monitors itself: with automated tests, clear data logic, and AI as a core part of how we work.

Aufgaben

• You support us in building and evolving our reports and data solutions, using Claude Code and other AI tools as a core part of your daily work


• You take ownership of QA for our reporting landscape and develop automated checks that continuously monitor our data and reports for completeness, consistency, anomalies, and unexpected changes


• You factor QA in from the start when building new reports, helping us create a reporting landscape that monitors itself as much as possible rather than relying on manual checks


• You work with our data in BigQuery, develop and improve SQL queries, and systematically trace data issues back to their root cause


• You question existing processes and actively look for ways to solve recurring analyses, QA processes, and other manual tasks better with AI and automation


• You work closely with teams such as Marketing, Finance, Operations, CRM, and Sales, understand their business questions, and translate them into reports, analyses, and technical solutions

Qualifikation

• Analytical & technical foundation: You're currently studying and bring some practical experience in data analytics, SQL, programming, or comparable technical projects. How you solve problems matters more to us than which tools you've already mastered.


• AI-native mindset: AI means more to you than ChatGPT for text tasks. Ideally you've already worked with Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI coding tools — or you're excited to make them a core part of how you work.


• Automation mindset: When faced with recurring manual tasks, you automatically ask yourself "why are we still doing this manually?" and enjoy building better, scalable solutions.


• Data quality mindset: You don't blindly trust a dashboard or AI-generated code. You want to understand whether results are actually correct, how they can be validated, and how errors can be caught automatically in the future.


• Ownership & learning agility: You don't need a step-by-step guide for every problem — instead you experiment, research, use AI, and work independently into new technologies and questions.


• Business understanding: For you, analytics doesn't end with a working SQL query. You want to understand what's behind the data, why a KPI matters to the business, and whether a result is actually plausible.


• Tools: Some prior experience with SQL is important. Experience with BigQuery, Python, Git/GitHub, APIs, n8n, or BI tools is a plus — but not a must.


• Language skills: You speak and write English at C1 level or above — for collaboration within the team and with external partners, as parts of our tools, internal knowledge base, and data sources are in English. German is a plus.
