About The Role
The Finance team at FalconX manages the firm's liquidity, capital, and risk, and provides the financial controls and reporting that support executive decision-making, compliance, and audit readiness. The Finance Transformation team sits within Finance and is responsible for business process engineering, technology enablement, and data analytics that drive efficiency across the function.
We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst to help shape the future of the Finance organization. In this role, you will partner with treasury, accounting, and FP&A teams to build automation, improve data quality, and deliver the analytics and reporting infrastructure that Finance relies on to scale with the business.
What You'll Do
- Partner with Finance Data Analytics teams to design and build automation across existing processes in GL, treasury, accounting, FP&A, and other Finance functions
- Develop current-state operating model assessments and business process flows to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Support process transformation initiatives, including technology and systems integrations and development
- Build dynamic data visualizations and reporting that support management decision-making
- Perform data analysis and investigation on Finance use cases, liaising with cross-functional partners to resolve issues
- Ensure high data quality, integrity, and auditability across all data analysis and reporting operations
- Build scalable, reliable data pipelines that collect, transform, load, and curate data from internal systems and databases
- Support the design and deployment of Finance data lakes that serve as a central source of truth for reporting and analysis
- Develop automation to push Finance data solutions toward real-time wherever feasible
- Evaluate new technologies and build prototypes to continuously improve Finance data analytics operations
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the needs of Finance, Data, and key stakeholders to inform product specifications and requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in audit, finance, finance transformation, big data, project management, or accounting within financial services (crypto, prime brokerage, or Big 4 experience a plus)
- A firm understanding of GAAP accounting principles, with familiarity in GL/subledger design and mapping transactional data to journal entries
- Tenacity for problem solving and navigating obstacles, including uncertain or changing data sources, processes, and procedures
- Macro-to-micro versatility: a strategic mindset coupled with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent analytical skills to evaluate issues of varying complexity and propose solutions
- Strong command of data wrangling tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL)
- Project management experience, including Agile methodologies
- Passion for cryptocurrency, web3, and blockchain technology
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage challenging deadlines
- Prior prime brokerage or broker-dealer experience is a plus
- Low ego, integrity, ownership, and grit
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
- CPA professional license is a plus
- SQL or Python coursework or hands-on experience
