Position Overview

Community HousingWorks is seeking a hands-on Yardi ERP Implementation Consultant with strong construction accounting, job costing, and real estate development experience to support the transition from MIP Abila to Yardi.

The consultant will support the Yardi go-live and transition, including dual accounting, project setup and reconciliation, data validation, troubleshooting, and accounting process development for approximately 30 active construction and development projects.

This role is ideal for a senior project accountant, controller-level consultant, or accounting professional who has hands-on Yardi experience and has participated in an ERP implementation or conversion.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the MIP Abila-to-Yardi implementation, testing, go-live, and transition.
• Perform dual accounting and reconcile information between legacy and Yardi systems.
• Enter, validate, and maintain project-level accounting information in Yardi.
• Support approximately 30 active construction/development projects.
• Perform job-cost accounting, including costs, contracts, commitments, invoices, budgets, change orders, and project activity.
• Identify and resolve data, mapping, accounting, and system issues.
• Partner with Accounting, Construction, Development, Costing, and implementation teams.
• Develop and document standardized accounting and job-cost processes and SOPs.
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and help ensure accurate financials throughout the transition.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Yardi experience.
• Strong construction accounting and job-cost accounting experience.
• Experience with an ERP implementation, conversion, or go-live.
• Experience with dual accounting during a system transition.
• Strong understanding of real estate development/construction accounting.
• Experience working with multiple active projects.
• Strong GL, reconciliation, and project-level reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently, take detailed notes, troubleshoot issues, and attempt to solve problems before escalating.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to create clear SOPs and process documentation.

Preferred

• Yardi Voyager, Yardi construction/job-cost functionality, and/or Yardi Elevate experience.
• Affordable housing or real estate development experience.
• Experience with MIP Abila, Sage, MRI, or another legacy ERP.
• Experience migrating accounting data into Yardi.
• Experience with construction contracts, commitments, draws, budgets, and change orders.

Ideal Candidate

• We are looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves and work directly in the accounting process—not just provide high-level implementation guidance. The successful consultant will quickly understand existing processes, identify problems, work independently toward solutions, and help leave the accounting team with reliable processes and SOPs after go-live.
