Key ResponsibilitiesTest Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for backend applications.
• Develop functional, integration, regression, API, and end-to-end automated tests.
• Build reusable automation libraries and testing utilities.
• Automate validation of backend services, REST APIs, workflows, and business logic.
• Develop data-driven and parameterized automated test suites.

Backend & System Testing

• Validate Linux-based C++ applications running in near real-time environments.
• Test multithreaded applications for correctness, stability, and reliability.
• Verify CPU utilization, memory consumption, scalability, and system stability.
• Perform stress, endurance, and performance validation where appropriate.
• Investigate intermittent failures, race conditions, deadlocks, and resource leaks.

API Testing

• Design and automate REST API testing.
• Validate authentication, authorization, and API security.
• Perform API regression and integration testing.
• Automate service validation using Postman, PyTest, or similar frameworks.

Linux & Environment Validation

• Execute and automate testing on Linux environments.
• Develop Bash scripts to support automation and continuous testing.
• Validate deployments across supported Linux distributions.
• Analyze logs and troubleshoot environment-related issues.

CI/CD & Quality Engineering

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain automated quality gates for builds and releases.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve build reliability.
• Produce test reports, dashboards, and quality metrics.
• Support continuous testing practices.

Collaboration

• Work closely with software developers during feature development.
• Participate in requirement reviews and design discussions from a quality perspective.
• Assist developers in reproducing and diagnosing software defects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing strategies and engineering practices.

Required Skills & ExperienceProgramming

• Strong programming experience in one or more of: C++, Java, Python, JavaScript
• Experience developing automation frameworks using object-oriented programming principles.

Test Automation

• Hands-on experience with one or more automation technologies like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium WebDriver, WebdriverIO, Protractor, or equivalent frameworks.
• Experience designing reusable automation frameworks from the ground up.

API Testing

• Experience with Postman, SoapUI, PyTest, REST Assured, or similar API automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, Authentication mechanisms.

Linux

• Strong experience working in Linux environments.
• Knowledge of Bash scripting, Linux command line, Process management, File systems, and Networking basics.

CI/CD

• Experience with Jenkins, Git, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Experience integrating automated tests into build pipelines.

Debugging & Troubleshooting

• Strong debugging skills including Log analysis, Root cause analysis, Defect isolation, and Test failure investigation.
• Ability to work effectively with development teams to resolve complex technical issues.

Preferred QualificationsExperience with one or more of the following would be considered an asset:

• Near real-time or high-performance systems
• Multithreaded application testing
• Performance and stress testing
• Broadcast/media workflow applications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• 6–10+ years of experience in software quality assurance and automation engineering.
• Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining enterprise-scale automation frameworks.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development teams.
