About The Role And Where You Will Be Working
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based at our Central Office in Rivervale on a permanent full time basis working Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to work from home 2x days per week.
As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will lead key financial reporting and compliance activities across the organisation and its related entities. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors, while driving continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and controls.
Your Responsibilities Will Include But Not Limited To
- Lead the preparation of annual financial statements and statutory reporting for Southern Cross Care WA and related entities.
- Coordinate and manage interim and annual external audits, including the provision of audit data and supporting documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, journal reviews, and financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with taxation obligations, including GST, BAS, FBT and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Manage treasury, banking and investment activities, including loan and term deposit registers.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and oversee key financial reporting systems and general ledger integrity.
- Assist with funding, grant reporting and other financial obligations across the organisation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing financial processes, controls, systems and reporting capabilities.
To Be Considered For This Role You’ll Need
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting. CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
- 3 to 5 years' experience in a Senior Financial Accountant or similar role.
- Strong experience preparing general purpose financial statements.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial accounting, compliance, and reporting.
- Treasury management experience.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and financial modelling capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative approach with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
- The ability to deliver results and maintain performance in a fast paced environment.
