Our team works collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff to enhance documentation quality, supporting both clinical care and fiscal management goals. Role Overview
As an Inpatient Clinical Documentation Improvement (IP CDI) Coordinator, you will leverage your clinical, coding, and CDI expertise to enhance the quality and accuracy of medical records. You¿ll identify factors influencing patient complexity, serve as a CDI subject matter expert, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance the Henry Ford Health CDI program. Your work will directly impact patient care, reimbursement accuracy, and overall healthcare quality.

What You Will Do
- Improve the quality and integrity of documentation in the medical record using clinical, coding, and CDI knowledge.
- Identify factors influencing the complexity of a patient¿s diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Serve as a CDI subject matter expert, collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, and ancillary services.
- Develop and lead education sessions for providers and Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDS).
- Support CDI program data capture, reporting, and fiscal management goals.
- Champion the advancement of the Henry Ford Health CDI program.
- Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP), Physician Assistant (PA-C), or International Medical Graduate.
- 3-5 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting, preferably critical care.
- 2 years of CDI experience.
- Basic PC knowledge and familiarity with ICD-10-CM Coding Guidelines.
- Current RN, CNP, PA-C license, or ECFMG credentials.
- BSN preferred.
- Professional certification (CCDS or coding certification) preferred.
