Projects

Seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Chargebacks engineering team, building and evolving Java-based backend services that power our chargeback and fraud-prevention platform. This role contributes to large-scale initiatives including technology modernization, decisioning workflows, alerting capabilities across the Chargebacks product suite. Beyond technical execution, this role requires the judgment and versatility to operate in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment — communicating complex technical tradeoffs clearly, adapting quickly as priorities shift, and partnering across teams to deliver results. This resource is expected to be highly proficient in leveraging Claude Code and other AI-assisted development tools to deliver quality software at high velocity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Java-based backend services and REST APIs for the Chargebacks team.
• Enhance alerting capabilities and backend support for configurable notifications.
• Partner on technology enablers including database upgrades, integration, and scaling strategies, as well as containerized service deployment.
• Participate in release cycles, feature iteration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews and mentoring, and actively contribute technical perspective in requirements and planning discussions.
• Operate effectively across concurrent initiatives and shifting priorities without loss of quality or velocity.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience with a strong Java backend focus, including Spring Boot and SQL
• Experience building scalable, high-availability SaaS platforms
• Strong REST API design and service-oriented or microservices architecture experience
• Expertise with relational databases; PostgreSQL and/or Oracle experience preferred
• Familiarity with containerized deployment environments (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Experience with complex workflows and decisioning systems
• Proficient in leveraging Claude Code and other AI-assisted development tools to deliver high-quality software at velocity
• Comfortable operating in high-velocity, fast-changing environments
• Agile/Scrum experience and strong collaboration skills
