Responsibilities
- Assess the value of distressed assets, including corporate entities, commercial real estate, and loan collateral, to determine recovery prospects for non-performing exposures.
- Build and maintain financial models using discounted cash flow (DCF), liquidation, and market-based valuation methodologies to support credit decision-making.
- Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate recovery outcomes under a range of restructuring and enforcement strategies.
- Evaluate borrower business plans, cash flow forecasts, and turnaround proposals to determine financial viability and repayment capacity.
- Analyse financial statements, management accounts, and sector trends to identify key valuation drivers and quantify risk exposure.
- Prepare valuation reports and recovery recommendations for credit committees, senior management, and regulatory audiences.
- Monitor distressed portfolio accounts to identify shifts in collateral values or borrower circumstances that may affect recovery outcomes.
- Collaborate with credit risk, legal, and finance teams to coordinate problem-credit management and support enforcement, asset disposal, and insolvency proceedings where required.
- Holds a Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA in Finance, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or equivalent advanced professional qualification.
- Brings 3–5 years of experience in credit analysis, corporate restructuring, distressed debt, special assets, or corporate and investment banking.
- Applies corporate valuation methodologies with confidence, including DCF analysis and relative valuation (multiples) techniques, across a range of industrial sectors.
- Builds advanced financial models using Microsoft Excel and specialist financial analysis tools to support complex credit assessments.
- Communicates clearly and persuasively in both written and verbal formats, with the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Works with a high degree of autonomy and accountability while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Practical experience working with non-performing loans, distressed debt portfolios, or restructuring transactions strengthens your application.
- Exposure to insolvency proceedings or enforcement strategies in a banking or advisory context is advantageous.
- Familiarity with provisioning, impairment assessment, or regulatory credit review processes would be a valuable addition to the team.
