About The Role
As a Manager, Commodity Management & Sourcing, you will lead strategic initiatives across sourcing, supplier management, product development, and cross-functional projects. You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Development, and suppliers to identify opportunities, develop effective sourcing strategies, and support the successful implementation of product and material solutions. This role will have a direct impact on cost, quality, performance, manufacturability, and overall business competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
As a Manager, Commodity Management & Sourcing, you'll be responsible for:
- Lead strategic sourcing and cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation and production launch.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies, including supplier selection, qualification, negotiations, and supplier management.
- Partner with Engineering, Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and suppliers to identify and implement product and material improvement opportunities.
- Manage project timelines, risks, budgets, resources, and cross-functional deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Develop business cases and identify opportunities focused on cost reduction, product performance, weight reduction, quality, and manufacturability.
As a Minimum You Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 5–7+ years of relevant experience in Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, Project Management, Product Development, or Engineering.
- Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams in a manufacturing or product development environment.
- Experience with plastic components, injection molded components, or related manufacturing processes.
- Strong project management, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with metal-to-plastic conversion or material conversion projects.
- Knowledge of engineered plastics, injection molding, steel fabrication, metal sheets, or related manufacturing technologies.
- Experience with NPI, product launches, product changes, supplier development, or value engineering initiatives.
