We’re seeking skilled clinicians to join our Digital Health team and support Australians to access the right care, at the right time, through the Healthdirect Helpline.
These are dedicated night-shift opportunities, offering flexible working hours within our overnight service periods. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your clinical expertise in a telehealth environment while making a meaningful contribution to healthcare delivery across Australia.
About The Role
As a Digital Health Clinician, you will provide telephone-based clinical assessment, triage and health advice for a wide range of presentations, including:
- Acute and sub-acute health concerns
- Mental health presentations
- Health information and advice enquiries
- Adult and paediatric presentations
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone triage and clinical assessments
- Provide evidence-based health advice across diverse age groups and clinical presentations
- Identify clinical risk and determine the urgency of care requirements
- Recommend and facilitate appropriate care pathways
- Refer callers to healthcare services, including General Practitioners, Urgent Care Clinics, Virtual Emergency Departments and other relevant services
- Support safe and effective healthcare decision-making through high-quality clinical assessments
Key Details
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Minimum commitment of 32 hours per fortnight
- Minimum shift length of six hours
- Available contract hours:
- 10.00 pm to 8.00 am AEST
- 9.00 pm to 7.00 am AEST
- A night-shift uplift applies where a minimum of six hours is worked between 10.00 pm and 6.00 am
- Initial contract until 30 June 2027
- Fully remote working arrangement
- Comprehensive paid training provided
- Availability to attend two weeks of full-time training, Monday to Friday, is mandatory
- Training must be successfully completed before undertaking independent clinical shifts
- A streamlined training pathway may be considered for clinicians with previous telehealth experience
Essential Requirements
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of four years’ full-time equivalent post-graduate Registered Nurse experience in acute care, emergency, critical care or complex primary healthcare, gained within the last five years
- Demonstrated critical thinking and sound clinical judgement in fast-paced or unpredictable clinical environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer literacy and confidence using digital health platforms and clinical systems
- Residence within Australia
- Mental health assessment and support
- Experience across both adult and paediatric patient populations
- Telehealth or virtual care experience
