READY TO LEAD OPERATIONS FOR HEALTHCARE QUALITY NATIONWIDE? Join the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality as Deputy Center Director of Operations, providing executive leadership for the agency-wide approach to measuring and promoting health quality. At CMS, you'll set strategic direction for clinical quality improvement, lead major IT and program operations, and shape initiatives that improve care for 150+ million Americans. Responsibilities


  • Provide executive leadership in developing and implementing the agency's quality and safety initiatives, and strategic direction for the agency, states, and quality improvement partners
  • Analyze and evaluate legislative mandates, Departmental initiatives, and agency priorities to ensure alignment
  • Plan and coordinate the strategic organization and operations of the Center to marshal staff, budgetary, and other resources
  • Provide executive leadership for IT operations, Quality Improvement Organization and End Stage Renal Disease programs, acquisition strategy, contracting, compliance, audits, and procurement
  • Lead continuous improvement across the Center, including process improvement, risk mitigation, and creative problem solving
  • Lead CCSQ in the Director's absence and represent the Director before Agency leadership, the Office of the Secretary, Congress, and Federal/State agencies


Qualifications


  • Technical Qualifications:
  • Executive-level experience overseeing financial operations and management of healthcare programs, including developing and applying complex laws, regulations, and policies, and ensuring compliance and fiscal accountability across large healthcare programs
  • Executive-level experience leading multi-year strategic planning across a large organization, driving continuous quality improvement, and overseeing development of program policies and healthcare IT systems
  • Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs):

Required Skills


Senior Executive Service (SES) position. Note: Requires a Secret security clearance. Resume required (2 page limit). Current SES members or SESCDP graduates may apply for noncompetitive consideration.


Pay range and compensation package


Salary: $151,661 - $228,000/year
