Daily Work Times: 11a-830p

Shift: Evenings

Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 11:00a - 8:30p

Position Summary:

Responsible for the delivery of nursing care within the assigned unit scope of practice following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assesses each assigned patient, documents and evaluates their response to plan of care, and takes appropriate corrective action.
  • Plans and implements the patient’s plan of care/standard of care and provides patient teaching using the plan of care/standard of care.
  • Oversee all ancillary personnel for technical tasks.

Required:

  • Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • A minimum of one year telemetry experience.
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as Healthcare Provider.
  • ACLS & PALS required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred:

  • Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Medical/Surgical Care Unit, Critical Care Unit, and/or Emergency Department experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the ANA nursing standards of clinical nursing practice and Ingham nursing services standards of patient care.
  • Demonstrates competency in Dysrhythmia interpretation skills and pharmacology knowledge for treating cardiovascular emergencies.
  • Demonstrates the ability to accurately assess patient/resident condition.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient/resident care plans/standards of care for the patient/resident population served.
  • Demonstrates the ability to complete patient/resident charts and related documentation in conformance with hospital standards and chart audit criteria.
  • Evaluates patient/resident educational needs; develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies.
  • Enhances individual and unit professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, workshops, and by reading current literature and incorporating research into scope of nursing practice.
  • Maintains professional licensure, certifications, unit-specific competencies, and clinical ladder requirements as required by hospital and specialty area.
