Key responsibilities include:
- Process payrolls, payroll tax payments, and related federal and state filings.
- Perform monthly bookkeeping activities, including:
- Account reconciliations
- Bill payments
- Recording income and expenses
- Preparing financial reports
- Assist with monthly budgeting and financial tracking for clients.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support clients utilizing accounting software solutions.
- Travel to client locations, when needed, to perform on-site bookkeeping services.
- Track bookkeeping hours and assist with invoicing and accounts receivable monitoring.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and distribute tax organizers and tax preparation materials.
- Create tax return, 1099, and W-2 proformas.
- Prepare and distribute informational returns (1099s and W-2s).
- Assist Tax Accountants with:
- Farmland credit calculations
- Depreciation schedules
- Tax return preparation support
- Electronically file tax returns and informational returns with federal and state agencies.
- Monitor electronic filing statuses and resolve filing issues.
- Track receipt of signed tax documents and required authorizations.
- Assemble completed tax returns and prepare client invoices.
- Upload and maintain electronic tax records and supporting documentation.
- Maintain annual tax files and ensure compliance with record retention procedures.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Answer phone calls and assist customers.
- Schedule appointments and meetings.
- Prepare and distribute mail and correspondence.
- Support meeting logistics and catering coordination.
- Scan, copy, and maintain client files and documentation.
- Order office supplies and maintain inventory.
- Process customer payments and prepare invoices.
- Maintain customer and prospect information within CRM systems.
- Generate and monitor reports to ensure accurate and current data.
- Has exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Enjoys working with numbers and financial information.
- Provides excellent customer service and communicates professionally.
- Can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Takes initiative and enjoys supporting a team environment.
- Is comfortable learning and using accounting and business software.
- Demonstrates professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems and software.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- QuickBooks Certification.
- 1-2 years of experience with bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation, or accounting-related responsibilities.
- Basic knowledge of accounting, payroll, and tax processes.
